You may or may not know that one of my interests in life is karaoke, indeed I host karaoke shows in and around west London where I live.
I have had facilities to play karaoke on my PC for some time, firstly it was using a bit of free software available from an organization called Van Basco using .midi or .kar files.
Then I went on to purchase from another organization called Cavs a bit of software that allows me to play any of my own cd-g karaoke discs on my PC with key change and other facilities should I need them, these are both fantastic bits of kit in their own right and I still extensively use them both to this day.
But I have now found an organization called Sing To The World , based here in UK. that is absolutely fantastic, here's why :
1. For a monthly subscription thats starts from as little as £3.99 per month you can stream down to your PC karaoke songs and they will appear on your PC screen in true karaoke format with the words changing colour as you sing them and with absolutley fantastic music backing, you can even store them in your own jukebox on the STTW site and easily call them up whenever you go on to the STTW web pages and stream them down, one at a time, so you could for example have your very own karaoke show in your own home and invite all your friends around for a karaoke night and a beer, or 2, or 3, or whatever.
2. If your are a karaoke host you can get custom cd-g's of tracks of your choice, there are a lot of organizations around that do this, but I don't know on how many of them you can hear your selected track/s before you pay for them and either reject or add it, as the case maybe, I think with other companies you tell them what you want, send them the money, they send the completed disc too you, you then find out it's not a very good recording or it's too long/short or whatever, you are of course stuck with it.
STTW will also replace, for free, discs that fail under certain circumstances.
3. There is a very informative and lively message forum which you can respond or post messages too, on this forum you can also ask for tracks that are not in the STTW database to be recorded and you may be lucky and get your request recorded.
All in all I highly recommend STTW to all Xangans as a site where you will get, for relativly little outlay, a bloody good service in return, oh and by the way I am not in STTW's employ.
Enjoy, let me know what you think, and please email me if you have any queries.
